I’ve got a fair bit of half-news for you tonight, but hopefully the mists will have cleared by the morning. There seems to be a new Panelbase poll on independence (Marcia warned us to expect one), because a right-wing commentator on Twitter is furiously spinning some of the supplementary results, but I haven’t seen any sign of the headline Yes/No numbers yet.
Secondly, there’s a single tweet from a seemingly credible account claiming that a new Stack Data poll shows the following…
Should Scotland be an independent country?
Yes 52% (+2)
No 48% (-2)
That would be fantastic news if true, but treat with caution until we get confirmation from at least one more reliable source.
And thirdly, I’m not sure if it was Emma Raducanu or my own self-promotion drive that distracted me, but I somehow completely overlooked a Savanta ComRes poll on Friday, which showed…

No 52% (-1)
ComRes have been the most No-friendly pollster in recent times, so the narrowing of the No lead is actually consistent with the trend that seemingly has produced outright Yes leads with both Stack Data and Opinium.
So the picture looks very encouraging right at this moment, but much will depend on the Panelbase numbers, and also on whether the Stack Data numbers are confirmed.
